Idle Success uses simple mouse controls suitable for desktop browser play:

• Left-click an activity icon to begin working, exercising, studying, or performing another available action.
• Click repeatedly on the character to accelerate the current activity.
• Left-click upgrade buttons and interactive menu options to purchase improvements.
• Use the on-screen interface to move between the available areas of the character’s life.

No complicated keyboard commands are required. However, active clicking can complete tasks much faster than simply waiting, especially during the early stages of the game.

Progress in Idle Success is divided into several connected areas. Developing one area often helps you reach the requirements or resources needed for another.

Money is one of the most important resources because it connects nearly every part of the journey. Better earnings allow you to purchase upgrades sooner, while education and career progress improve your ability to generate that income.

The best approach is not to treat each activity as a completely separate minigame. Fitness, education, employment, relationships, and housing form one progression chain. When advancement slows in one area, check whether another activity can provide the money or improvement needed to continue.

Start with the objectives presented by the game. These early goals introduce the progression system and prevent you from spending too much time on an activity that cannot yet unlock anything useful.

Click actively during slow tasks. Repeated clicks on the character accelerate the current action, making active play especially valuable before you have purchased stronger upgrades.
